Centre of excellence for all things diving, especially Technical and Rebreather. With the best Irish whiskey collection in the Philippines, evenings are taken care of in the award winning Craic House too.
We like Evolution, we like Evolution a lot. Not just because the resort is on the quiet end of Bounty Beach and has the classic coconut palm trees, with the sea gently lapping onto the clean white sand beach, or because the Craic house (their bar & restaurant) serves up great food and has the best whiskey collection in the Philippines. But because the owners, Matt and David, are true leaders by example when it comes to anything to do with diving.
Evolution is what we consider a centre of excellence for dive education, particularly if you are interested in technical diving. Matt is one of the few Rebreather Instructor Trainers in the country and his knowledge of all things Rebreather is second to none.
What you quickly notice when you dive at Evolution is there is no compromise; safety is paramount, everything works as it should do and is properly maintained, all of the dive team knows their role perfectly and things happen seamlessly. Even underwater, the Evolution DMs stand out from the crowd, Jo and Gino are the ones with perfect trim and buoyancy when others are, well, shall we say, not so controlled.
Accommodation wise, a new building has been constructed recently, with very spacious ‘deluxe’ rooms and tastefully furnished with high-end local materials and as you would expect air-con and hot shower.?Nearer to the beach-front are their original ‘native’ rooms, offering less space and creature comforts, but have a great view of the beach!
You can’t be at this end of the beach without going to the Craic house, it’s so successful, and they had to extend it. It serves ‘fusion food with a contemporary Irish twist’, we have no idea what that means but plenty of people agree with us that its great food, hence it’s been awarded the Tripadvisor ‘Certificate of Excellence 2014’.
